Purpose of the Position

The Security Risk Controller is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all on-site security operations while ensuring compliance with client requirements, legal standards, and company policies.

The role focuses on identifying potential security risks before they become incidents, ensuring security systems remain fully operational, supervising security officers, maintaining accurate documentation, and responding effectively to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Security Risk Management

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct comprehensive security inspections across the site.
  • Identify security weaknesses and recommend corrective action.
  • Perform weekly security risk assessments.
  • Monitor vulnerable areas and implement preventative measures.
  • Ensure all company and client assets remain protected.
  • Monitor access control procedures and restricted areas.
  • Report security risks immediately to management.

Protection of Company Assets

Responsibilities include protecting important facilities such as:

  • Server rooms

  • Fire sprinkler pump rooms
  • Electrical control rooms
  • Warehouse facilities

  • Client operational equipment

The Security Risk Controller must ensure these areas remain secure at all times.

Incident Management

The successful candidate will:

  • Investigate security incidents.
  • Compile professional incident reports.
  • Record all occurrences accurately.

  • Assist management with incident investigations.

Security Systems Monitoring

Monitor and inspect various electronic security systems including:

The Security Risk Controller will:

  • Record all alarm activations for reporting purposes.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

Security Team Supervision

The Security Risk Controller will oversee daily activities of on-site security personnel by:

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Valid PSIRA Grade A Registration.
  • Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Valid South African Driver’s Licence.
  • Previous experience in Security Risk Control.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
