Job Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for two Security Officer positions. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining security, controlling access to government premises, safeguarding assets and information, and ensuring the safety of employees and members of the public.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Grade C Security Certificate
- Registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)

Key Responsibilities
Access Control
- Control access to and from the Labour Centre or Provincial Office.
- Verify visitors and maintain security procedures.
Security Operations
- Protect information, assets, equipment, and facilities.
- Monitor movement within government premises.
Patrol Duties
- Conduct routine security patrols of buildings and office facilities.
- Identify and report security risks and irregularities.
Investigations and Compliance
- Conduct internal security investigations when required.
- Enforce security policies, procedures, and regulations.
