Old Mutual is inviting ambitious South African students who wish to pursue a career in Chartered Accounting to apply for its Chartered Accounting Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

The programme provides financial support and career development opportunities to students studying towards a Chartered Accounting qualification at selected SAICA-accredited institutions. Successful candidates will also gain access to vacation work opportunities, mentorship, networking events, and potential employment opportunities after completing their studies.

What the Bursary Covers

The bursary provides comprehensive financial assistance, including:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Prescribed study materials
  • Accommodation in residence
  • Meal allowances
  • Travel costs for students studying away from home
  • Additional incentives for strong academic performance

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Achieve at least 70% in Mathematics
  • Obtain at least 60% in English Home Language or 70% in English First Additional Language
  • Have acceptance or conditional acceptance at a SAICA-accredited institution
  • Intend to pursue a Chartered Accounting qualification
  • Be willing to participate in the Old Mutual Chartered Accounting Training Programme

Required Documents

Applicants may be required to submit:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certified copy of ID
  • School reports and academic records
  • Matric certificate (if available)
  • University acceptance letter
  • Academic transcript for current university students
  • Completed motivation form

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete assessments and attend interviews. Final selections will be based on academic performance, potential, and suitability for the programme.
